More About Me
I have competed in USA Dance Nationals once - my partner and I took first in Novice Smooth and Standard, as well as fifth in Prechamp Smooth and Standard.
My current partner and I dance champ standard, and we are are committed to dancing until the 2013 USA Dance Nationals in LA this Spring. After that, I intend to move to New York to continue to improve.
I have been dancing Ballroom for about 3 years, competing actively for the last 2. Before that, I danced socially, particularly in Swing/Lindy Hop. I am a Champ Standard, Prechamp Smooth, and Novice Latin dancer. I actively compete in Standard, but I am willing to dance any combination of the styles; however, Standard is a must.
Last year, I drove an average of 10-12 hours per week for practices, as my partner lived 2 hours away. This year, it is closer to 6 as my partner is closer. Would prefer a partner within an hour's driving distance, but obviously I am flexible.
I'm Looking For
My heart lies with Standard. My previous partner and I were Prechamp finalists this year, and my current partner and I have high goals as well. We've been training hard this year, both in Latin and Standard, the latter certainly being my strong suit (I am on respite from Smooth for the time being).
I am open to competing in Smooth and/or Latin, but Standard is a must, preferably at the Champ level come Summer 2013, which is when I intend to move to New York, NY.
