Fairly busy graduate student in Chicago, but I like to dance often.....ideally multiple times a week.
My first love is latin dance but I flirt around with other dances and am just starting to formally learn ballroom.
High-Intermediate/Advanced Level
-Salsa - My best dance (On 1)
-Casino Rueda Salsa
-Bachata
-Cumbia
-Forro (Brazilian dance) - probably won't see in chicago but a girl's got to dream.
Beginner/Intermediate Level
-Argentinian Tango
-Samba (De Gafieira)
-Zouk (Brazilian) - love it, must do more
-Kizomba - Haven't had the opportunity to dance this much yet but the scene seems to be expanding in Chicago. I definitely want to learn more and am natural at body rolls
I would describe my style (at least for Latin) as street, very tropical. Pretty much a fusion of African/Hip-Hop rhythms and styles with Latin dance.
I'm Looking For
Partner to practice with and refine skills who is primarily into the Latin/Afro-diasporic dance scene. My first priority is having fun, but I would love to start getting into performances and amateur competitions eventually.
