More About Me
I have been learning and dancing social ballroom for four years. I am very passionate about Latin: Rumba, Chacha, Samba, and Jive. In standard, I love Tango, Waltz and Quickstep. I can also dance, at a reasonable level, all the New Vogue plus a few popular sequence dances including Engagement Waltz, Argentine Stroll... I am a very passionate learner by nature. I adopt a bottom-up approach to learning in order to establish a solid foundation for anything I learn. I have had many private lessons with highly-qualified dance teachers in Latin and Standard, who taught me techniques of most figures. To aid my memory, I have bought a lot of high-quality international Latin and Standard teaching DVDs which I use when practice. I am very passionate about Latin, and I have been regularly practicing basic Latin figures as part of my fitness regime on my timber floor at home. However, I have not been able to translate what I have learned onto the social ballroom as I do not have a regular dance partner to lead me. My serious problem is my musicality skill - rhythm and timing with music, esp with Jive...So I need a lot of help from my partner in this respect. Ideally, I would like to share private lessons with my dance partner and practice a lot to reinforce the technique we learn. I am available to practice and dance on weeknights and all days on the weekend. My favorite social dance venues are Friday night in Ashfield Polish Club, Saturday night in Top Ryde Town Hall and Club Condell Park on some Sunday nights when there are good live bands play nice music for Latin, Waltz, Quickstep... My dream is to be a good and competent social ballroom dancer as I am very passionate about dancing, and in order to achieve this I need a good practicing partner who shares my fundamental approach to learning. Note: # All dance styles are international including: @ Latin: Rumba, Chacha, Samba, Jive, Paso Doble @ Standard or Modern: Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz # New Vogue: there are 16 including President Daughter Waltz and Opus Five Waltz # Sequence Dances: There are many, but I only concentrate on learning about 15 including Engagement, Argentine Stroll...

I'm Looking For
My ideal dance partner would be well-educated, trustworthy, honorable, respectful, easy-going, happy, fun-and-playful, not too pedantic, but a natural, patient and passionate learner who believes in HIGH-QUALITY BASICS as a solid foundation, and slowly build up on it. He would share my approach to learning, which will be: # Guided by well-qualified teachers - preferably in private lessons, # Using high-quality learning materials - DVDs - to aid memory and enrich the knowledge in the art of dancing, as there are much more to learn than any teacher can offer. (Note: The DVDs will not replace the face-to-face teacher, but they will allow us to watch repeatedly and learn from former and current world champions at our convenience, as a result, they will enhance our learning.) # Followed up by lots and lots of practices to store what we'll have learned in cellular memory, so that movements will become automatic, enabling us time to concentrate on musicality when dancing in social ballroom... Last, but not least, I hope that we will have an honest, truthful, exciting, fun, happy and fulfilling dance partnership!!!
