More About Me
Here’s all the info you may want to know😎. Update-: I had a knee injury (one legged squat gone wrong😲) from May 22-November 22 now healed. So I am currently (nov 22) renting a studio several hours a week to train solo until I totally trust my leg again. Its going well and I will be ready to meet up with prospective partners from January 2023. Previous background: Before the never ending 2020/2021 lockdowns and restrictions, my schedule was: Two private lessons per week for three years. Plus Personal practice average 2 hours three times per week, more when work schedule permitted. Plus 2 times group competitors technique classes per week. Competitions dancing with my pro teacher, (ex foreign 10 dance champion in his youth🙂) including The London Ball, The Ice Ball, London Gala Ball, Grand Finals Blackpool...etc. ) I am not interested at all in the Pro-Am circuit other than it provided me with motivation, kinaesthetic learning and competition experience which I enjoyed. My goal is to develop within a dance partnership with someone similar in experience to me, go to competitions and take quality private lessons together, practice sessions etc in addition to our individual solo ones. Standard Ballroom: The teachers of my last teachers were Michael and Vicky Barr and Timothy Howson. Latin: ISTD group classes plus pre lockdown proams. Currently self practice and international internet and groups again from January. I also invest time in Pilates, Feldenkrais, Neuro Movement and ‘GMB’ -athletic fitness.

I'm Looking For
Maybe you have not danced for long but you are physically fit and basically coordinated and balanced on your own feet as that is really fundamental. If you have more experience you will already know that enjoyable as it all is, it takes up a lot of time and money and commitment to progress and develop. We would share joint lessons to help us develop our couple and of course be free to practice together in addition to this. Our own practice time is where the learning and progress takes place. and I hope you have already discovered that solo practice is as important as partner practice. I rent a studio all for myself regularly, video it, study with some teachers via the internet etc. I view our joint practice as our opportunity for us to figure things out together and how to adapt to each other because it is an equal partnership. If I had to choose between standard and Latin I would choose standard but if you are able to 10 dance and have invested in your latin biomechanics it would be great. It’s not a deal breaker though because I love standard a little bit more. Without doubt going to competitions are one of the goals. I hope that like me you find them to be enjoyable and exciting and fun as I do. I definitely enjoy the atmosphere a lot, love to win, make the finals etc, mostly because that means more dances! But in reality I am truly good natured about it all and actually despite being motivated by competition atmosphere, never desperately attached to results. It is all the other aspects, of learning training improving making my dance hobby part of my life that I enjoy the most. Nervous types are truly not for me. Totally zero drama please. We prepare and then on the day enjoy every minute of being out on the floor whatever happens. We enjoy and look for improvements from and keep going for as long as we are enjoying ourselves and improving. If you don’t have a sense of humour it is not going to work.
