More About Me
I have 14 years of dance training and social dancing in Cuban Salsa and Afro and traditional Cuban Dances. As well as 8 years of teaching experience. I also have 5 years of training and teaching experience in Kizomba/Urban Kiz/Semba/Tarraxa... I also have some limited training in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Afro House/Afro Beats, Kuduro, Argentine Tango, Blues, Reggaeton and love to freestyle and love musicality and self expression in dance... I have my own dance studio in Halifax, NS but I would like to expand and start teaching, performing and competing for Kizomba/Urban Kiz outside of Halifax. I also like to write about dance and have recently started a blog. I am also interested and do research on what I call co-creative dance. Which is about ways to bring more balance and sharing between partners in social dancing.It can go from eliminating gender roles to finding good moments in the dance to give each other a moment to shine.
I'm Looking For
I am looking for someone interested and willing to put the work in to get to an international level in Kizomba/urban kiz. I'm also looking for someone who loves musicality, creativity and self expression and for whom connection and sharing is important. I'm also looking for someone for who social dancing is important as well as teaching and someone who is also interested to perform and innovate.
