More About Me
I was introduced to dance at age 20, starting in Ballroom, then Jazz, Tap, Western, and Swing. Taught Ballroom and Tap here and there. I spent years exploring it all but classes just for classes sake was becoming boring, and life too busy. I always had a solution for me and one I figured would be a solution for other adults as well, but I had other priorities that prevented me from chasing that idea. Right now, I see a potential near-term opportunity to maybe begin playing with executing my idea, but I've got to find my spirit, skill, and a good dance partner first. The chances in Kalispell, MT? Yeah, I know. But if I don't try, the end result (doing nothing) is guaranteed. However slim, maybe there's a chance I've found you at the right time and right place in your life to join me. The kind of stuff I want to do is choreograph certain numbers and grow an ever larger repertoire that becomes a rotating teaching base. From time to time, participants are invited to different dance events were selected pieces will be played that they've learned the choreography too. Then over time, they don't need to take the classes (unless they want to refresh) and just come have fun doing the dance with other people. Think of a show where the audience is also the performers. It's cliche', but Michael Jackson's Thriller choreography is a good example. Maybe it's been a couple years and the participant sees it coming up in a dance event and says "Oh, that'd be fun, I haven't done that one for a while.", and comes to relive the experience with old friends and create new ones. The idea, however, would be to have so many dances that they'd want to come back often. Things already choreographed that I'd like to learn are Fly Grandfather (you can youtube that one) and one without a name that is a Shuffle/Jazz dance mix to Tschami Shades. On the list to choreograph dances for: Prince's Alphabet Street (tap), Cotton-eyed Joe (high energy), That Love (Shaggy, swing-type dance, high energy). If you're in the area, or bored with where you are and might want to take the gamble for a chance at the experience, write me. No harm in a conversation. Though I have a history in dance, it's been a looong time. So, if you're a beginner with passion, that's great. If you're more seasoned, but like the idea and have some patience, that'll work, too.

I'm Looking For
I was taught in ballroom to look over my partner's shoulder instead of their eyes so as not to screw with our posture. I LEARNED by watching other performers and doing it myself that looking into each other's eyes...being in the moment...having fun...it's this that reverberates through an audience...touches them more than perfect posture ever could. If dance makes you happy, if you can be in the imaginary place we create when the music is playing, you are someone I want to know.
