More About Me
I am relatively new to the Toronto area. Looking for a practice partner who has successful Latin American competition experience.
I am slim, very committed, rhythmical, hard working, athletic and non-smoking. I weigh in at 160lbs, 5ft 7in (170cm). I am a passionate Latin American competition dancer. Latin coaches over the last few years have included the Douglasses, Truemans, and Jake Davies with occasional sessions with Ian Waite, Hannes Emrich and Andrew Cuerden/Hanna Haarala. In my last 18 months in England I trained with Mark Lunn (London) and Andrzej Mialkowski (Northampton). Since moving to Toronto, now train at Ol-Si dance sport with Oleg Yedlin, Valentin Kolesnikov, and Antoaneta Popova.
I started competing in LA in March 08 and competed successfully during most of 2008 and 2009 and were easily within the Top 12 in the Senior Latin English chart. During 2010 I took a break from competitions and eased my way back in during late October for a few comps before the British National. In January 2011 I won the Senior Pre-Am Latin (Champions of Tomorrow) at Blackpool, and in June 2011, Stars of The Future, confirming that I am the top Senior Pre Champ in the UK, and making the quarter finals of the British National and Top 60 in the British Open.
Besides all that, I am a keen social dancer and frequent the usual places from time to time. Happy to work with a professional or amateur, and happy to perform/demonstrate and possibly compete at Pre Champ/Champ level.
I'm Looking For
A talented, confident and well presented Latin American lady dancer.
Ideally you will be:
- in your mid 30s to early 50s, ideally with some reasonably recent competition experience, able to pick up routines quickly
- Have good "basics"/standards in Latin American dancing with a good sense of timing, musicality and a degree of flair
- Between 5"1" - 5"6" wos. (ideally 5'3/5'4"), of similar build, drive and enthusiasm with high stamina
- Within easy reach of east of Toronto area for regular practice (Bowmanville-Oshawa-Scarborough)
- In a personal situation that allows flexibility of dance venues and evenings to attend training and practice sessions - you must have your own transport.
- Would look favourably on a professional or someone looking to finish their professional qualifications (specifically Latin!)
Most of all, you'll have a friendly, outgoing personality and you'll be exceptional fun to dance with.
