I haven't been dancing for a couple years due to going back to school and well LIFE getting in the way. I am really wanting to get back to dancing. Looking for social and practice partner. I have a little room to practice (wood floor). I am looking just for a partner at this time. I had a partner for a little while but he didn't understand I only wanted a dance partner and nothing romantic. I am trained in American style ballroom dances at bronze level, but I have danced with silver and gold level partners socially. If it's a good strong lead I can follow. My original teacher when I first started out would tell advanced professional dancers to take me out for a dance....when they'd ask if I could dance to their level he would tell them I could follow a drunk monkey. At social dances when meeting new people have been mistaken for instructor. I really just want to go out and enjoy the dance floor and not looking into competitions. Currently the only performing I do is middle eastern dance but recently took an Irish step class and was asked to join their dance troupe as well. I just enjoy dance but missing having a partner for the ballroom and I'm really wanting to get into Argentine tango and bachata more.

Hello, I am 5' 11" tall and of athletic build. I have danced for many years and have been trained by several top coaches which has given me the opportunity to achieve a good level and understanding of competitive dancing. My ideal partner should be between 5'4" - 5'8 " tall and have previous competitive experience but will consider ladies who have the ability and desire to work hard as that is more important. You should also have time to take lessons and be prepared to train several times a week in order to reach a competitive standard to challenge. Competitive in rhythm/ smooth, but I grew up dancing latin since I was 12. I've trained in other styles including jazz, hip hop, aerial arts, bellydance, flow arts, gymnastics, and partner acrobatics. Looking to train regularly, and open to competing 9 dance and theater arts. I danced professionally for the last decade, and owned a studio, but have since left ballroom as a career for other business ventures. my dance back ground consists of country, salsa,swing.Can waltz need practice. I'm enrolled at a local Fred Astaire studio. Just finished several salsa/bachata classes.

I started taking classes in March 2019. For July, I'm trying West Coast Swing. This is part of my exercise routine and is more fun than a treadmill. I'm trying to get back to "High school fat". Remember when we were in HS and thought we were fat? I'd like to be that size again. I'm now within 4" on my waist of that goal.

11/27/20- Had bariatric surgery. Have lost 138lbs since my heaviest. Down to 40" waist jeans (-14") and XL shirts (was 4XL).

4/15/21- 2nd covid shot. Looking forward to group classes coming back in May.

Here is some information about me and hopefully you find that we have some interests in common.

I am passionate about music, dance, the countryside, sailing and horses and looking for new friends to share at least some of these interests. Finding the special someone of my dreams would be even better - especially if you are passionate about dance too!

My work is training and coaching business people in communication skills and team building - I'm passionate about this too. I have travelled widely and love to explore the art and music of the places I visit.

I started dancing in 2000 and with some gaps, I have been dancing about once a week since then, mostly at local dance schools. The dances I have been learning include Waltz, Quickstep, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Argentine Tango, Salsa, Rumba, Cha cha cha, Jive, Samba and Merengue. I suppose you could describe me as an intermediate level dancer in most of these dances.

Art and design are my other interests and my most recent project has been designing my garden, which is now a lovely place to entertain friends in the summer.

My friends are many and they live all over the UK, Europe, South Africa and the US, with some possibly going to Australia soon - so lots of lovely places to visit wonderful people!

Danced on and off for 15+ years, mainly group classes in Ballroom and Latin but with probably around 6 years or so of consecutive dance. A little Salsa experience in the very distant past now also.

Quick to learn and get focused, extrovert personality but quite easy going. I like to have fun and a laugh when practising and not to take myself to seriously, I can take training seriously though!

Very limited options for dance in the north of Scotland, open to session or practice ideas maybe around Inverness, into Aberdeenshire or further south around Perth or Dundee. Would travel further for the right partner if the experience was worthwhile, Glasgow, Edinburgh etc.. Have a gym instructor background so used to tough regular training :)

2020+ - Still looking for a reliable partner for practice sessions, would really like someone to ballroom jive with on a regular basis. May consider driving as far south as Cumbria now for the right person or can accommodate in the Highlands.
