I dance Urban ballroom, Steppin, Salsa, learning Tango. I love to be taught new dances as well.

Dancing is my passion. I have had many years of private lessons with a variety of teachers and have attended numerous group classes, workshops, and dance camps. While I appreciate and pay attention to good posture and technique, I am a spirited dancer who enjoys flair, drama, length of stride, energy and speed where appropriate. My teachers and partners all tell me I am a superb follower, unusually flexible, and very light and easy to lead. I naturally smile when dancing and tend to laugh when a mistake is made - dancing to me is more than just artistic expression; it is an expression of my joie de vivre and pure fun. However, music is my inspiration, and the quality of music affects my enjoyment. I play piano and some violin and guitar, and love to sing along. I enjoy most forms of music, from classical to electronic, and it plays a major role in my life. (Although I must admit, so do my dogs and my grandsons.)

I would like to maintain and improve my skills, especially in quickstep, Viennese Waltz, and tango; I tend to find fewer partners interested in the higher levels of these dances. I also want to learn more Argentine Tango, Lindy, Balboa, and country dances and would be happy to find partners that specialize. I am cheerful, kindhearted, very patient with my partner, and I have lots of energy and stamina. I have never sat out a dance due to fatigue and recently danced over 7 hours straight at a jazz festival - mostly fast swings, quicksteps and Balboa. However I am a many-faceted person and can be equally immersed in a slow, dramatic Bolero.

I can be flexible about where, when and how often we dance. I am also flexible about my partner's skill. Energy and enthusiasm, and a love of moving to music, are sufficient for social dancing.

Currently I dance on a couple of formation teams. I would be happy with one regular partner who "does it all," but am equally fine with several part-time partners or specialists in one or a few dances. I would like to avoid extensive driving, but will make an exception for a partner who is a good fit. I'd like to attend more social dances with a partner, at Rossmoor, at senior centers, at dance studios, at clubs - any styles of dancing.

Started Arthur Murray dance back in the 1990's, finished the bronze syllabus and some silver, moved to Illinois where there was no American style, so studied a little International as I got ready for my wedding. Wife does not share this passion with me after all, so for decades have been out of the dance scene until now that my divorce is almost finished.

Dance to me is is about creativity and freedom of expression, leading, guiding and protecting my partner to let her feel safe and free to shine. A beautiful mingling of masculine and feminine energies. I love watching my partner light up under my lead. I was inspired to dance after watching the movie "Shall We Dance?" (original Japanese version), and have been hooked ever since my first dance lesson.

Danced many years on and off

I have never taken dance lessons at a studio. I have signed up with a studio in my area and my instructor says I am advanced and I should be put in choreography lessons. I mainly dance Salsa, Bachata and Merengue. I want to get into Kizomba.

I've been going to ballroom and latin dance classes for about 2 years now. At the moment I am dancing with the teacher's assistant, which is great but it would be nice to have a dancing partner on a reasonably regular basis. I enjoy the social side of dancing and like making new friends but am not looking for a relationship.

I have been dancing a little more than 5 years with a focus on international standard up until this past year. I have competed with my instructor in Boston, NYC, Conn, and DC at the Bronze and Silver level. My instructor is no longer teaching and I am currently at a major name studio and competing in American smooth at the silver level. I enjoy the rhythm dances (salsa, hustle, swing, cha-cha, bolero) as well but have not done as much competing with those dances.

My father was a professional musician and my mother was a flamenco dancer. Since the age of 6, I have always had some type of dance classes including ballet.I danced flamenco for 10 years and now I dance mostly tango.I am interested in improving and practicing my dance with a partner.

Tango is my favorite of the ballroom dances that I have been learning. I am now learning the Argentine Tango and loving it. I think I have found my dance calling. I've been dancing jazz since 2009, I've taught at three different ballrooms since 2011. My primary focus has always been musical theater, but my favorite type of dance has always been Jive and Paso Doble or International Latin in general.

I am a professional Dancer in the Boston area working as an independent teacher. I have competed in American Rhythm as well as Standard. I competed in the Fred Astaire circuit first and bounced around second and third position at regionals, and came 6th at the nationals. At independent competitions we bounced from 5th to 3rd place. I trained extensively in Rhythm and standard but before Ballroom I was a professional Ballet dancer. I trained in ballet for over 15 years and then switched to Ballroom dance. I am very serious when it comes to my dancing and I want to find someone who is serious about their professional dancing. I am willing to put a lot of time and resources into dancing so I am looking for someone with the same drive. I am open to both styles and am interested in competing in 9 dance if it would fit.

I'm passionate about ballroom dancing but only in recent years have I had the opportunity to actually learn any beyond the basics. As far as level is concerned, I rate myself somewhere between half and full bronze, and have begun to learn one or two silver moves in selected dances. I started taking lessons regularly at the beginning of 2018 and typically take two lessons (group) a week, except in summer. My goal is to become proficient (full bronze plus a silver pattern or two for good measure) in 10 or 15 different dances in the ballroom and Latin category. I am not interested in competition but I want to be worth dancing with.

My actual location is about 50 km south of Summerland, or 10 km north of Oliver. The dance parties I go to are in Penticton and Summerland. An upcoming workshop is in Kelowna, about one hour further north, but otherwise I never go that far for lessons or to dance.

I'm open to carpooling if you live south of Summerland.

Ballroom has been my passion and interest. I would really like to reach as far as possible before the age of 35 in amateur.

I have been doing many beginner competitions and a handful of novices with a number of partners, and is looking forward to progress upwards with the right person.

My current job allows me to have consistent free time for practices and has a full-mirrored access studio for free as staff benefits.I am currently practicing 3 days a week (~3 hours each) and irregular couple practices as my current partner is irregular in schedule.

I prefer regular practices than long practice sessions. It's better to meet up daily 1 hour than to meet once in a while for 3 hours straight.

Most recently I won 1st place in both bronze Latin and Rhythm. I would now like to compete in silver Latin, Rhythm, Standard, and Smooth. I would however consider competing in gold if my partner was very confident at that level.

My training schedule on a weekly basis consists of 8 hrs of Latin and Standard, 4.5 hrs of ballet, and 2 hrs of social dancing.

Although I am mainly seeking an amateur competition partner, I would also consider taking social lessons with someone, going social dancing (which I already do on occasion), or competing in pro-am.
