I've been learning Latin American and ballroom dancing for over a year, and since December 23, I've been diving into Lindy Hop, which I absolutely love—it's truly my passion.

Re-started dancing ballroom after a long break, but now lacking a partner to continue learning and developing and to go to social events. Have silver medals in Latin American, ballroom, and classical sequence and just started working on gold medal standard. I also dance some Argentine tango and looking for a partner for this. Love to dance and won't quit till you do. Am familiar with all typical ballroom dances - Smooth and Latin. I do know Salsa and Hustle as well. West Coast Swing is one of my favorites. Foxtrot and Bolero would be my other two favorites. Just now starting to learn Argentine Tango. It is difficult to find the right partner from reading only a bio. I am willing to travel to or part way to test out dancing together. Trying out dancing together along with conversation is, I believe, the only way to find the right dance partner. I trained for 14 years in ballet. Shortly after entering the pro division, covid arrived and we were sent home, as most were, to await further instruction. It was during this time that I discovered ballroom and absolutely fell in love with it. I have been teaching and competing in ballroom for 4.5 years, but have not yet found the right partner; someone who is as dedicated to growing into a partnership thru working together and accomplishing common goals.

To excel at any one endeavor, I feel like you have to specialize and dance is what I've chosen for that purpose. While always striving to keep dancing fun, I do take it seriously and I have the ambition to work at being the best that I can be. I believe that a serious dancer progresses better and more rapidly by having a steady partner. In addition to my motivation and enthusiasm, it is my appreciation for and my loyalty and devotion to my partner and the way that I express it that sets me apart from others. While I am confident that I'm a good social dancer right now, I know that I still have a long ways to go. I've been dancing a long time, but I still want to learn and I am willing to practice. I'm particularly interested in doing more with west coast swing, hustle and salsa/mambo. I am open to learning new dances. It would be wonderful to find someone who can put a lot of time into dance, but I don't have specific requirements about any set amount of days or hours per week. I'm flexible in terms of whether I am either the more experienced dancer or at a lesser skill level than my partner (I am receptive to being coached/trained if my partner has the background and interest in doing so). When not dancing, I enjoy roller coasters, water slides, going to sporting events and playing pickleball. Being retired, I'd like to go on cruises with a companion, particularly cruises that include social dancing .Please note that I'm not a paid up full member, so I can't respond to greetings.

I have taken private and group lessons from a multitude of dance studios and instructors over the years. Years ago I competed, mostly within the Arthur Murray system. I have performed several showcases. I prefer social dancing to doing routines.

I am generally a very good lead and am currently dancing somewhere at between an advanced bronze and silver level. I have pretty good technique and could compete if I wanted to.

My wife likes dancing with her dance instructor and I enjoy dancing with other amateurs. Although we both ballroom dance, we have found that we are happier when we do it separately. I am happily married and am only looking for a dance partner.
